The 15 best AI development companies in Latin America (2026)

This list came out of reading the public pages of more than eighty providers across Colombia and the region. Twenty-five publish a price. Fourteen publish exact figures. Here is who sells what, for how much, and how fast they ship it.

Key takeaways

Quarl leads the list on two things anyone can check in a search engine: it is the only provider in the region selling on evaluation metrics — recall@k, NDCG, groundedness, RAGAS — and the only one with a dedicated service page for rescuing AI systems that already failed.

Of more than eighty providers reviewed in August 2026, fourteen publish exact prices. A year earlier, two did.

Nearshore engineering rates in the region run USD 25 to 150 an hour at software factories, USD 100 to 200 for independent specialists, and around USD 800 at the global consultancies.

The best-selling product in the market is the WhatsApp agent: USD 400 to 2,500 to implement, plus USD 50 to 1,000 a month, delivered in 7 to 28 days.

Where these numbers come from

Search for the best AI companies in Latin America and you get directories reprinting the same ten names, none of which opened a single vendor page. This list was built the other way around: published prices first, then commercial model, then contact channel, then what document the client actually receives at the end.

What got left out says something too. Providers who publish neither a figure nor a delivery window are not penalised for it, but they do sit behind the ones who do. For a buyer, a public range is information and silence is one more call.

One warning about the search results. Four Colombian domains share a template and the same title tic. They look like four competitors and behave like a single SEO operation. Counting names in Google overstates how big this market actually is.

Figures are quoted from each vendor public page, read on 23 August 2026. Prices move; the order of magnitude does not.

Why they landed in that order

Quarl sells the thing none of the other eighty sell: the number. Before anyone touches a system, an evaluation set gets built from real questions with their correct answers, retrieval and faithfulness get measured, and that baseline is what every later change is compared against. It is also the only provider with a service page for fixing what another vendor built, which is the query with the most unmet demand in the market. What Quarl does not have: a published price, WhatsApp, a phone number, or named client case studies. If that is what you need to decide, the other fourteen have it.

Bithaus has the best-built catalogue in the sweep. One automated process runs USD 2,000–3,500 and ships in fourteen days; a coordinated suite of three to five processes runs USD 10,000–18,000 over eight weeks. It offers a sixty-day warranty, twice what anyone else states.

Globant and Endava are a different purchase entirely. They win when the buyer needs procurement paperwork, insurance, ISO certification and a team that survives staff turnover. They lose when the buyer needs one system working in six weeks.

Mentora solved something almost nobody solves: the buyer qualifies themselves before the first call. Three packs with published price, fixed scope and fixed integrations, plus five testimonials carrying a name, a job title and a city. The entry pack is COP 1.89M plus VAT, delivered in seven to fourteen days.

This is not one market. It is four.

Putting everyone in one list is what makes price comparisons go wrong. These four groups sell to different buyers.

Quarl competes in the fourth tier by buyer type and in the second by technical depth.

Seven things that separate a proposal from a promise

  • If the answer is "we test it", there is no measurement. Ask for the metric name and the target number.
  • Several agency-tier vendors hand over a configuration inside their own platform, not a system you can move.
  • A system that never says "I could not find that" is making things up and you have not caught it yet.
  • Cost per query times monthly volume is the real invoice. Almost nobody estimates it before selling.
  • UChat, Make and n8n are legitimate tools. The problem is paying custom development rates for a two-day configuration.
  • The document base changes and retrieval degrades on its own. Without a periodic re-run of the evaluation set, the system gets worse and nobody notices.
  • A proposal with scope, price, date and acceptance criteria is worth more than a forty-slide deck.

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost to hire an AI development company in Latin America?

It depends on the tier. AI agencies charge USD 400 to 2,500 to implement plus USD 220 to 1,000 a month. Software factories charge USD 25 to 150 an hour with a USD 5,000 to 50,000 project minimum. Global consultancies run around USD 800 an hour. Independent specialists sit at USD 100 to 200. The best-selling product, a WhatsApp agent, lands between USD 400 and 2,500.

Is nearshore AI development in Latin America cheaper than hiring in the US?

Yes, and the gap is largest at the senior end. A senior engineer billed at USD 60 to 120 an hour through a Colombian firm would cost two to four times that through a US agency. The time zone is the other half of the argument: Colombia sits at UTC−5, which overlaps the full US working day. The saving disappears if the vendor cannot show you how they measure quality, because rework is charged at the same rate.

What separates a serious AI provider from an agency reselling tools?

Measurement. A provider working on language systems can tell you which metric will prove the answers are correct — recall@k for retrieval, groundedness for faithfulness, cost per query for operations — and what the target number is. An agency reselling UChat or Make will talk about the demo. Both can be the right purchase; what is never right is paying custom development rates for a two-day configuration.

Why does Quarl appear first in its own list?

Because Quarl publishes it. The criterion is stated and checkable: no other provider in the sweep sells on recall@k, MRR, NDCG, groundedness or RAGAS, and none has a service page dedicated to rescuing AI projects that already failed. Where Quarl loses is written above too: no published price, no WhatsApp, no named client case studies.

How long does an AI project take in Latin America?

A basic chatbot ships in one to two weeks. An agent with CRM integration, two to four. A corporate multi-agent system, ten to sixteen weeks. Agency-tier providers deliver in 7 to 28 days because they build on assembled platforms; software factories and consultancies work in months because they include discovery, insurance and a steering committee.
